More Great Information on Honey Dish:
From Flowers To Hive Honeybees Are Working For Honey
Think about a mouthwatering yummy honey spread pastry cake displayed on the bakery's glass container. Even that thought itself can bring water in our oral cavity. Do you know whose hard work is behind this? It's none other than our little honeybees who are working day after day to collect honey from well bloomed flowers. It's really interesting to know about honeybees social structure, swarming, communication methods and the way it makes honey.
These social insects create nest called bee hives on the top of the trees or under some branches. In each hive there contains at least twenty thousand honeybees. Their highly ordered social structure can be taken up as a good example of tactics for better management. Bees can belong to any one of three groups namely queens, drones and workers.
Queen is the largest bee in the colony and her main purpose in life is to lay eggs. She will have only one mating period and at a time she will lay about thousand five hundred eggs. She can be easily identified by her larger abdomen and her life span is about two to four years. Now there comes the male bee called drones. Drones will be heavier than workers and will have larger eyes and antennae. Using those special features they will perform their sole function that is locating the queen and mating with her. There will be some hundred of males in a bee hive and after completion of their task they will be evacuated from the colony to die.
Workers are sterile females who will work in the hives similar to a midwife responsible for household jobs. When young workers are called house bees and they will take care of the hive by doing activities like cleaning, defending the hive, feeding the queen and drones and brooding. Grownup workers are called field bees and their job will be to collect pollen, nectar, water and certain sticky resins used in hive construction. Compared to other bees they will be small in size and will have a long mouthpiece called a proboscis to collect nectar and water and an extra stomach to carry and transport it. These bees that are constantly working for the wellness of their bee hive will live for about six weeks.
As there is no proper language to communicate with each other, they adopt a special communication method. They pass messages through dances, vibrations and chemical signals. It's a field bee's job to go out and search for pollen, nectar and water. Once they find the source, they return to the hive and perform a round or waggle dance. If it is a round dance then it means the source is within a hundred meters of the hive. And if it is a waggle dance, or a dance to give the shape of '8' with wings in the direction of sun, then it indicates that the food is somewhere near the centre section towards the sun.
Honeybees get energy from the honey. To make honey these bees collect nectar from plants and are delivered to house bees on a mouth-to-mouth method. This process called ripening changes the nectars texture to golden brown thick fluid called honey. Many television channels connected with service from providers like

From babies to old aged people honey is consumed by everyone without age bar. In America honey is considered as their favorite sweetener and they are using some 300 different types of honey. It is estimated that an average American consumes nearly 1.25 pounds of honey each year. Honey has great demand everywhere in the world, because it can be used not only in bakery products but also in medicinal purposes.
